Our mission is to improve the health of Ohio citizens by working collaboratively to protect, promote and support breastfeeding and human milk feeding.
Ohio Breastfeeding Alliance (OBA) is an educational, nonsectarian service organization serving the geographical area of the state of Ohio. Its purpose is to collaborate with regional/area/local coalitions, organizations, agencies, businesses and individuals who are in agreement with the OBA mission and wish to participate in achieving OBA objectives to:

- Increase Ohio breastfeeding rates to meet Healthy People Goals (rev.) (US Dept of Health and Human Services) for minimum percent exclusive and overall breastfeeding;
- Increase breastfeeding as a health care intervention and disease prevention strategy in the state of Ohio, as it relates to infectious disease, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, cancers, etc.;
- Protect breastfeeding as a natural civil right of mothers, babies and families;
- Increase knowledge of the evidence-based role of breastfeeding in infant and maternal health, and the biological role of breastfeeding in nurturing children.
